Elizabeth Reaser, an American actor on film, TV and stage, is most well-known for roles such as The Twilight Saga as well as shows like Greys Anatomy or True Detective. Jessica won the international competition in 2018 to play the role of Talon who is the protagonist who is the protagonist in The Outpost. Producers were given a sample tape of her acting in another video in which she performed MMA. The producers wondered if she would be able to perform swordfighting one day later, and she submitted a video showing her sword-fighting. Jessica was able to read the script and knew the character needed the training for weapons. She recorded her first training session with a professional after studying the script. Jonathan Glassner said that the stunt crew was surprised by how well Jessica did in her first lesson. The Outpost marked her first major part in the US since her prior movies were located in Australia. The role capitalizes on Jessica's passion of action, with her mix martial arts, horse riding, weapon skills, and athletic abilities enabling her to pull off her stunts and thoroughly portray the powerful female character. In Australia she learnt muay Thai and boxing. On set, filming Season 4, Jake Stormoen met a stray dog that was roaming about the scene. It turned out that the stray dog belonged to the litter of stray puppies who were living on the set. Jessica took care of two puppies.
